First, you'll need to upload Font Awesome CSS file and all font files to your server. Follow instructions below to do that:

  1. Download the following files from CDN: font-awesome.min.css, fontawesome-webfont.eot, fontawesome-webfont.woff2, fontawesome-webfont.woff, fontawesome-webfont.ttf, fontawesome-webfont.svg;
  2. Upload font-awesome.min.css file to the /wp-content/_ACTIVE_THEME_/css/ directory 1;
  3. Upload font files (.eot, .woff2, .woff, .ttf and .svg) to the /wp-content/_ACTIVE_THEME_/fonts/ directory 1;

Then, put the following snippet at the end of functions.php file of your active theme.

add_action( 'su/assets/register', function() {
	wp_deregister_style( 'font-awesome' );
	wp_register_style( 'font-awesome', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/css/font-awesome.min.css', array(), '4.7.0', 'all' );
} );

1 – If your theme does not have that directory, create it.
